'SEXUALITY' is the word and the topic that people shy away from at the very mention. In a country where 'SEX' itself is a taboo, what do we do when the topic is much more controversial than that? We try to avoid such topics by turning a blind eye to them. Guys, the cat is out of the bag and there is use in tbeating about the bush in matters that are related to the sexuality of man. I have had discussions with people who said time and again that homosexuality is against nature, against religion and against the wishes of GOD.
If you say that nature created you straight, then its same nature that created the un-straight; why shun them? They have as much right as you do to have a life of their own. If you have the right to fall in love, and choose a girl of your choice, then why not let them have their right to choose their kind? Why should you dictate terms and conditions as to who you have to see and whom you have to fall in love with? Feelings are same, no matter who it is. Its just the person to whom you express that makes the difference. Most often, it so happens that the 'un-straight' approach only their kind. Have you come across a gay/lesbian? Although you'd, you couldn't identify them; even if you did, answer these questions for yourself; did they offend you, did they hurt you, did they do anything at all that made you go against them? Then why is it that you dont look at them like any other normal human? Please look at them with a broader mind, make yourself think large, give them the respect they deserve. Stop living life by looking at things through a microscope.
If you say that HOMOSEXUALITY is against one's culture and religion and by going against it, you are trying to save your culture and religion, then what is the difference between a rascist, who thinks his skin is superior than the rest of the world and us, who think being straight the way GOD created us? Its the same GOD that created you that created them; its the same culture under which you were brought up and them.
I urge all of you to give it a thought. If they have done nothing wrong, why is that they should bear the pain for it? They were born just as any one of us. Although, homosexuality's been there for a very long time (a few centuries), its only today that they are being given their rights.
I am not sure how you are going to take this, but I welcome the move by the INDIAN Govt. to legalise homosexuality. If we are proud to be STRAIGHT (at least I am), lets not make them feel inferior to us. Just treat them as any other human being.
